|Address:||117 West High Street|
|Year Built:||c. 1930s|
This building was originally constructed as a grocery store, and is one of only two buildings within the Downtown Mount Vernon Historic District to possess a full corner entrance. The building was constructed using cement blocks, which are covered in stucco on the exterior walls, including the supportive piers. The storefront is executed in brick to provide a more inviting appearance. It has several distinctive features, including a glass block window and a stepped parapet. Above the glass block window there was another window that has since been filled in with brick, but it retains its small sandstone sill. Facing West High Street is a wide band of ribbon windows. Above these windows is another band of former windows, or perhaps a nameplate, that is filled in with cinderblocks.
